Cambridge Cantilever Walkway Canopy

The Cambridge Cantilever free standing structure can be used as an entrance canopy, or extended to create a covered walkway. Supplied clad with either bolted glass, polycarbonate or 6.4mm laminated glass into patent glazing bars.

Guarantees: Framework - 25 years | Polycarbonate Cladding - 10 years proportional against discolouration through sunlight
Size: The maximum width for the Cambridge Cantilever is around 3.5m, but each canopy is fabricated to suit the clients requirements
Applicable Standards: UKCA Marked structural steel fabricated in accordance with BS EN1090, designed in accordance with BS EN 1990,91,92,93,97 for Wind & Snow Loadings (replaced BS6399 Pt.2 - Wind & Snow Loadings; BS5950 - Structural Use of Steelwork in Buildings)
Roof Shape: Flat Pitched Cantilever
Glass: Toughened laminated safety glass to BS EN 12150
Solid Polycarbonate: Flame Retardant (Class 1) Solid Sheet Clear Polycarbonate with a 10 year proportional guarantee against discolouration from sunlight
Structured Polycarbonate: Flame Retardant (Class 1) Structured Opal (opaque) or Clear Polycarbonate with a 10 year proportional guarantee against discolouration from sunlight
Polycarbonate/Glass Cladding Fixing: Two part Aluminium Glazing Bar with rubber gaskets to allow for thermal expansion of the roofing sheets and secure fixing
Standard Finish: Shot blast, Beckryzinc primed, and polyester powder coated to any standard BS/RAL Classic colour
Rainwater Goods: Colour coded Aluminium gutter included as standard with downpipes terminating at ground level
Foundation Fixings: Chemical or cast in-situ anchor bolts into concrete foundation pads

We are very pleased with how they look and that they will be a ‘boon’ for our children in terms of shade and rain protection. However my main reason for writing is that I am very pleased with the way in which your staff Martin Sears and Timothy Barclay, have carried out the project. The space we used for the canopies is a main thoroughfare to our playgrounds. They have managed to keep this are very tidy and safe throughout the week so that we can function as a school without any inconvenience. This was mainly due to Martin and Timothy, who in addition to doing such a good job have worked exceptionally well, ensuring ‘business as usual’ and have been very friendly with staff and children. I just wanted to write and say thank you for the recent installation of the canopy on our school grounds. Students, staff and governors are delighted with the result and the extra panels that were fitted over the Easter break have made the project complete. Our students seem to like the shelter more and more and when our new picnic tables arrive shortly we will have achieved our objective of creating a great place for them to sit, eat and socialise over morning break and lunch time. Will I require planning permission?: We always advise that you call your local planning authority as there are no hard and fast rules. They will advise on whether you require planning permission for your proposed canopy. Although it differs from region to region canopies under 30m2 may not require permission but this can be affected by situations such as proximity to neighbours, listed building status, conservation areas etc. so it always best to check. We are happy to provide free of charge, scaled drawings etc. of the proposed canopy structure to assist your application should you require.
Can we view existing canopies, so that we know what we are buying?: If you are considering purchasing a canopy from any company, it is in fact strongly recommended that you visit an existing installation to see exactly what you are paying for. At Clovis Canopies we are proud of our work and are happy to arrange (with the clients consent) for you to view examples of our work and structures.
Will our concerns over children and staff safety be addressed prior to installation?: We have been working within schools for many years. All contractors are Clovis approved and CRB checked. Full risk assessments are carried out prior to starting installation taking into consideration your requirements and safety fencing is erected wherever needed at no additional charge.
What further peace of mind can you give us before we place an order?: We are a sound, family run company with a high credit rating, which has been manufacturing and installing modular steel buildings for over 45 years.
