Aldi Exeter – Entrance Canopy (Extension)
Working alongside Aldi’s appointed contractor, Clovis designed and installed an extension to the existing entrance canopy at their Exeter store. The aim was to create a smooth continuation of the original structure, providing a clear and welcoming approach for customers while maintaining the store’s established architectural style.
To achieve this, a bespoke single pitch canopy was fabricated to mirror the existing design and maintain an uninterrupted line across the full frontage. The roof was clad in toughened clear glass to deliver a clean, contemporary appearance in line with Aldi’s brand aesthetic, and the steelwork was powder‑coated to C5 marine grade in Anthracite Grey to ensure a consistent finish with the original canopy.
The completed installation now provides a full‑length entrance canopy that acts as a strong visual waypoint and a well‑defined welcome point for the store. The new extension integrates seamlessly with the existing structure and offers a durable, attractive feature that will continue to enhance the customer experience for years to come.
Timescale: 10 weeks for design and fabrication, 8 days for on-site installation.

We always advise that you call your local planning authority as there are no hard and fast rules. They will advise on whether you require planning permission for your proposed canopy. Although it differs from region to region canopies under 30m2 may not require permission but this can be affected by situations such as proximity to neighbours, listed building status, conservation areas etc. so it always best to check. We are happy to provide free of charge, scaled drawings etc. of the proposed canopy structure to assist your application should you require.

- What colour can the framework be?

Each canopy framework is supplied in the colour of choice from the standard RAL range. A match for most school colour schemes can be found with that range if required.

Subject to appropriate cleaning and maintenance we offer the following guarantees:-
- Framework – 25 years against failure within design, wind and snow loadings
- Polycarbonate – 10 years against discolouration from sunlight
- Fabric Cladding – 10 years against degradation / failure from sunlight
